Job Summary

This role exists to champion, uphold and continuously improve the Quality integrity of the KLIX and FLAVIA brands, and manage all aspects of the Quality and Food safety of raw materials into, and products and services from the UK Drinks supply pipeline. Within this role is the responsibility to ensure continued value for money in current products through the business cost reduction programme.

 

1.   Uphold compliance to the Mars QMP and associated mandated quality standards. Ensure that the standards are embedded throughout the Drinks pipeline so that Mars Drinks products and services meet specification.  

 

2.   Safeguard the customer/consumer where standards are not met by initiating appropriate corrective and preventive action throughout the whole pipeline. Includes providing; Goods Inwards Inspection to protect the factory and consumer from defective goods and ensuring effective supplier exceptions management. Product recall and incident owner responsibilities exist in line with PRIMP process.  Also entailed is the accountability for driving CI activities for current products where consumer expectations are not met.

3.   To define and deliver the European Drinks VQA strategy to deliver agreed targets for supplier quality performance, factory efficiency and forward control in the assurance of food safety.

 

4.   Maintain product quality whilst improving value, by managing improvement activities to deliver business cost saving targets. (CoQ, Prime and conversion cost reduction targets)

 

5.   Develop pipeline quality control plans for new products and support new product development teams to ensure that product capability and quality are inbuilt during design and can be sustained long term.   

 

6.   Ensure that the quality needs and expectations of UK, CE and AP GBU's are continuously met.

 

7.   Ensure associates are adequately trained in the use of necessary quality tools and techniques.  Develop, empower and actively drive engagement within the team.  Ensure the teams capability, competence, ways of working, size, structure and funding are in line with the above challenges and Mars Drinks long term strategy

 

8.   Uphold legal, commercial and consumer demand compliance to:  TSO, EHO, Kosher, Halal etc.

 

9.   Ensure continuity of supply of current products and allocate resources to effectively manage Commercial/supplier induced product changes.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
  • Proven track record of Quality management in FMCG environment.
  • Strong team and line management capabilities
  • Practical knowledge of quality management techniques and proven track record of effective application
  • Skilled in recruitment            
  • Up to date knowledge of food safety and pipeline quality management
  • Min Degree level in scientific discipline.
  • Food saftey qualified- min Intermediate food safety/hygiene.
  • Strong HACCP knowledge
