On this programme you will help shape the future of Mars and we will help shape yours. You'll be given the opportunity to explore the huge diversity of R&D roles within Mars and develop your science skills in an environment where creativity and personal responsibility is celebrated.

You'll get to work on world-famous brands and see the results of your technical expertise, entrepreneurial spirit and fantastic communication skills on the shelves. At the end of this programme you will be have the breadth of experience to become a technical leader within R&D - whether that be in product or process development to deliver new innovations, factory support to safeguard our great quality products or in a scientific discipline to find the manufacturing technologies of the future.

What will I be doing?
The programme runs for three years during which you'll complete three year-long placements within our Confectionery or Petcare business units. With our support, you'll progress rapidly to understand, and be a critical part of, a dynamic R&D organisation within a global leader of Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG). The diversity of roles we offer -across innovation, food science and factory support- will challenge you to adapt quickly & learn what your strengths are and where you need to develop.

What support can I expect?
We will support the development of your science skills in a commercial business environment that rewards creativity and personal responsibility. Whatever you do, you will be working alongside creative and passionate people from all areas of the business. You might also find yourself working with agencies and university research teams to get the most out of your projects. You'll get support internally too; from your line manager and from a senior mentor who will help guide and steer your development, and a buddy - a graduate who's 'been there and done that' before.

Where will I be working?
As part of the application process you can choose to have your Mars R&D Leadership Experience in either the UK or the Netherlands. This country will be your 'home country' for the three years of your programme. Being a global company, we need our graduates to be flexible and mobile during the scheme and with this expectation comes the opportunity to work at Mars' Global and Regional R&D Innovation Centres and in some of the largest food manufacturing sites in Europe. Preferences for business unit and location will be discussed with you through the selection process.
